General Information for ALL Classes:
NOT JUST PLAY is a private EARLY CHILDHOOD ACADEMY not a daycare.
We are licensed through the State of Michigan for children ages 3-6.
Our classes are divided by ages: PRESCHOOL (3's), PRE-K (4's), and YOUNG 5's.
To attend: Children must be potty trained and a completed enrollment packet must be on file.
Each class has a max of 18 students.
Occasional field trips and classroom parties are held.
A $75 registration is collected when you enroll.
Starting in 2024-25, the school year runs from September through June..
Classes Offered
Children should turn the age for each class by September 1st of that given school year. **

*2024-25 Registration Forms are available, but will not be accepted from the public until Feb 6, 2024 @ 5:30pm.
**Waivers will be considered for entry into a class if the child's birthday occurs by December 1st of that school year.
Preschool
Should be 3 by Sept 1, 2023.
Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Option 1: 9-11:30am
Option 2: 1:30-4pm
Tuition is $130/month
The 3's is a great introductory class! The goal of this class is to promote the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual components of early childhood. A large portion of our day is PLAY based. Children learn best through play, but they will also be introduced to teacher led activities. Separation anxiety is addressed. We strive to provide a routine environment in which consistency helps children succeed. The kids will practice self control and how to interact with different personalities. They will also be given some classroom responsibilities, and learn how to deal with transitions throughout the day.
Pre-K
Should be 4 by Sept 1, 2023.
Our 4's have 3 different options.
Option 1: 3 day class meets on Mon, Wed, and Fri
9-11:30am or 1:30-4pm
Tuition is $170/mo
Option 2: 4 day afternoon class meets Mon-Thurs.
1:30-4pm
Tuition is $210/mo
Option 3: 5 day afternoon class meets Mon-Fri.
1:30-4pm
Tuition is $250/mo
The 4's is a bridge between early childhood and kindergarten! We continue building on the social, emotional, and physical needs of early childhood. PLAY is still a huge component of our curriculum, but we begin to shift the focus onto the intellectual component, helping to prepare the kids for the rigors of kindergarten. We promote a sense of belonging and community. The kids take ownership of the classroom by performing classroom jobs/tasks. We encourage cooperation as well as independence. Learning is always done is a fun way.
Young 5's
Must turn 6 after Dec 1, 2023.
FIVE year olds are welcome to combine with any of our 4 year old classes. (DAYS, TIMES, & PRICES ARE LISTED UNDER 4 YEAR OLDS SECTION.) We offer this opportunity to give your child a "GROWTH YEAR" before moving on to kindergarten.
If you feel your child is: On the younger side, not quite ready for a full day program, or could just use some more time to work on things (socially, emotionally, physically, or just doesn't show any desire to "learn" yet), we might be a good fit for you. Our curriculum can be modified for those friends who need a little more time. The Young 5's will be differentiated based on each child's abilities.
We DO NOT look at "growth years" as holding your child back! It is a gift to give them more time to develop so that when they do take on kindergarten, they will be confident and prepared.
YOUNG 5's IS NOT INTENDED TO REPLACE KINDERGARTEN.
